Andrew MacGregor Marshall Some fan mail for zenjournalist.com and The Tragedy of King Bhumibol
I just happened to come across your website because your name was mentioned in Manager Online. To my disgust, your journalism shows nothing close to zen in your report. It seems to me that the main purpose of your report is to attack Thai Monarchy and the King. What an enlighting intention?!
The frustation that I have with you is mostly related to "The Tragedy of King Bhumibol". In your second paragraph, you have described the incident so vividly that, for a second, I thought you were there at the time it happened. Obviously, it would be too silly to say that since the incident happened long before you were even born! And moreover, to claim that his rightful to throne and his tirelessly duties in the past 60 yers lead to people being killed and destroy his reign??!? You are out of your mind.
Talking to someone like you, I have no hope that you would understand or change your opinion. Yet, I couldn't just ignore the facts the your report was written in such a take-like, manipulated facts and painted such character ( the King) with unconfirmed truth and flavoring it with your bias full of sh*t. You have failed the first rule in journalism by inserting your opinion when you should have just report the facts!
Do not boast about being in Asia for many years. It's true that you have lived and seen many things in Thailand. But it doesn't give you any rights to claim that you know-it-all and this-is-the-fact. You must be blinded living in Thailand for so long but couldn't see how much the King has worked tirelessly and selflessly for his people and for his country. You must really be blinded and I am really sorry for you.
I am no red shirt, yellow shirt, nor rainbow shirt. I am a Thai citizen who cannot stand a foreigner like you telling the story like you know it all. This is not your country so you should be humble and grateful for our generousity to have you lived and breathed in Thailand for so long.

Marc Smith Clearly she doesn't know what 'ad hominem' is, nor does she refute or argue anything you've written. She just bangs on about the propoganda she believes is the only truth. Sad.
Ckkmaster Masterckk "...a foreigner like you telling the story like you know it all..." of course... because Thai people can't say such thing... Even today, after the things I now know, if "he" were to walk by, I would instantly drop to my knees! I can't fight my childhood conditioning... Sigh...
