Andrew Spooner has a write-up about four Thailand-related questions put to the United Kingdom government by the Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kerry McCarthy MP. The questions all deal with lese majeste and the death of Ampon “Ar Kong” Tangnoppakul. Andrew notes that we may hear answers by 21 May 2012, although that could be delayed somewhat if the UK government stll needs to determine its formal position. This effort is worth watching closely.

Public transparency, accountability, freedom of information are protected in Thai law, including some organic law attached to the Thai Constitution. However, in practice, these have simply been ignored at every level of Thai government.
It will therefore come as no surprise that Thai govt and courts make no apology for the death of Amphon Tangnoppakul in custody. Not only do they think their hands are clean, they are too devoid of an active conscience to know the meaning of shame or regret.
If Akong’s death is to mean anything, now is the time for free speech activists to press for ten crucial points in advance of wider initiatives to repeal Article 112 and the Computer Crimes Act.

อีกประการหนึ่ง คนที่มาพูดเรื่องพอเพียงไม่มีคนชั้นล่างๆเลย
มีแต่ระดับเมธเฟอราี่รี หรือเจ้าสัวรวยๆ ทั้งนั้น
ปัญหาคือ
1. คนพูด : สิ่งที่ทำกับสิ่งที่พูดมันไปคนละทาง
2. คนพูด : ไอ้ตอนพูดก็ไม่รู้ว่าคิดลึกซึ้งแค่ไหน
แต่ขี้ข้ากระแดะเอาไปตีความ แปรเป็นโครงการต่างๆ มากมาย
ดีมั่งเหลวมั่งว่ากันไป แต่ที่ทุเรศคือพอมันดีก็โปรฯ ว่าคนพูดดีเลิศประเสริฐศรี
แต่พอมันเหลวดันเสือกบอกว่าคนเอาไปทำไม่เข้าใจปรัชญาที่แท้จริงของคนพูด
(ว่าไปนั่น)
3. รวมความ "พอเพียง" เป็นเพียงเครื่องมือตัวหนึ่งเท่านั้น
ที่เหมาะจะเอามาใช้ในบางสังคม บางเวลา บางสภาวะ
มันไม่ใช้ยาวิเศษครอบจักรวาลใช้ได้ทั้งสามโลก (สวรรค์ มนุษย์ บาดาล)
4. ก็ในเมื่อมันวิจารณ์ไม่ได้ "พอเพียง" มันก็เลยต้องเป็นยาครอบจักรวาลไป
ก็ต้องหาทางตีความให้มันดีให้ได้ ให้มันเหมาะให้ได้
เพื่อหน้าตาและความอยู่รอดของขี้ข้าจะเอาใจคนพูด
มันก็เลยถูกบิดเบือน สิ่งดีๆ อย่าง "พอเพียง" เมื่อมันบิดเบือนและทำจนเฟ้อ
มันก็เลยกลายเป็นเลี่ยน ใครเห็นก็อยากจะอาเจียน
เพราะรับไม่ไหวกับความ "ตอแหล" กระแสตีกลับ
